Off-Broadway sensation, Ben Rimalower, brings two of his acclaimed solo shows to St. James Theatre, London for two dates only!
Ben Rimalower, one of New York’s most talked-about solo theatre performers, is coming to London for a naughty weekend, showcasing a twosome of their acclaimed shows: Patti Issues and Bad With Money.
Patti Issues is a show about his obsession with the Broadway sensation that is Patti LuPone (and who can blame him), whilst also examining the troubled relationship he had with his gay father. As Rimalower’s playwriting debut, Patti Issues explores gay men’s fascination with divas as well as taking an irreverent and poignant look at LGBT parents and children. It even comes LuPone approved!
“The show’s fantastic. It’s really wonderful. I was moved.” – Patti LuPone
Patti Issues will be double billed with Bad With Money, a much more personal exposé of Rimalower’s own life as an addict, taking us through prostitution, drugs, alcohol, and his addiction with debt. In Rimalower’s own words, “Spending money I don’t have is really my drug of choice. And considering how many people suffer from the same problem, it’s staggering how seldom that is discussed.”
Both shows have received high praise from press and high profile attendees, such as Alan Cummings and Tony Kushner. The New York Times also said of Rimalower’s shows,
“‘A well-honed script with an engagingly spontaneous delivery and a nose for sharp, observational comedy”. – The New York Times
